Increased Threats Against Artsakh's Civilian Population by Azerbaijan: Beglaryan
In recent days, taking advantage of the world's and especially Russia's overwhelming focus on Ukraine, Azerbaijan has sharply increased provocations and threats against the civilian population of Artsakh, stated Artsakh's State Minister Artak Beglaryan.
“1. For an extended period, they have been obstructing agricultural work in fields near the frontline with gunfire and other means. 2. For several days, they have also been firing large-caliber weapons towards our settlements, and yesterday in the village of Kharamort, a 50-year-old Suren Baghrayan, who was performing agricultural work in his yard, was injured by a mortar. 3. On the night of March 8, the only gas pipeline entering Artsakh exploded in an area under their control, and until now, they have not allowed Russian peacekeepers and our representatives to approach the pipeline and restore gas supply,” he noted.
Beglaryan further reported that negotiations continue through Russian peacekeepers for the peaceful resolution of issues. “At the same time, we are taking precautionary measures to ensure the safety of our population. Azerbaijan must urgently stop its reckless behavior towards the peaceful population of Artsakh,” he added.
