Çavuşoğlu: Discussions in Antalya Framed Within Cultural Contexts

Turkey is advocating for a long-term ceasefire in Ukraine that would genuinely take effect on the ground. This was stated by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu during a press conference following a trilateral meeting involving the foreign ministers of Ukraine and Russia in Antalya, as reported by Anadolu.

According to Çavuşoğlu, it is also important to establish humanitarian corridors for civilians. He emphasized, "If military personnel do not adhere to the agreements on the ground, then displaced civilians will be facing a real security threat."

"During the meeting in Antalya, Turkey emphasized the unacceptability of creating obstacles for the functioning of humanitarian corridors in Ukraine," Çavuşoğlu stated, referring to the trilateral meeting as an "important starting point".

"Despite all the difficulties, discussions regarding Ukraine took place within cultural contexts in Antalya," he added.

Çavuşoğlu also revealed that discussions during the meeting attended by Lavrov and Kuleba included the topic of organizing a meeting between the presidents of Russia and Ukraine.
