Video: What Event Was Held in Yerevan on March 8 in Support of Russia?
Russian media and social networks have been actively discussing a video since yesterday, claiming that an event-demonstration was organized in Yerevan in support of the Russian Federation.
The chief editor of RT, Margarita Simonyan, responded to the video and shared it on her Twitter page with the caption: "This is how they congratulated in Armenia, just take a look," wrote Simonyan.
Russian First Channel also prepared a report stating that volunteers, in support of Russia, depicted the number 8 in red lights in Yerevan as a greeting for International Women’s Day on March 8. The number then transformed into the letter Z, all accompanied by the sounds of the famous Russian song "Катюша."
Auroranews contacted the Yerevan city hall to clarify when and who organized the event. "No one has approached us regarding this matter; we have not received any application," city hall officials said.
The city hall noted that there is a procedure for holding events, and according to the law, gatherings with up to 100 participants and public events with up to 300 participants can be organized without applying to the city hall.
