Under What Conditions Will New Western Sanctions Against Moscow Be Lifted? Insights from the U.S.
New Western sanctions against Moscow will be lifted if Russia ceases its special operation in Ukraine. This was stated by U.S. Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland in an interview with TASS.
“Sanctions will end if Russia ‘ends this war and helps restore Ukraine, re-establish peace, and recognizes the sovereignty and territorial integrity of this country,’ as well as its ‘right to exist,’” said the deputy head of the U.S. foreign policy agency. In this regard, she expressed the opinion that the Russian leadership is currently in fact ‘denying Ukraine’s right to exist.’
