Astronomical Prices for Flights from Moscow to Yerevan: Citizens Report

AuroraNews.am has received reports from our compatriots that returning from Moscow to Yerevan has become astronomically expensive, with prices nearly 9 times higher than a month ago. One citizen shared their flight ticket purchased from Armenia Airways on January 13 for 4,526 Russian rubles (20,000 to 30,000 AMD), while now people have to pay 274,776 AMD for the same airline on the same route.

AuroraNews.am contacted Armenia Airways, where we learned that tickets for this route are sold out very quickly. When asked about the reason for such a price change, the operator stated they could not respond to that question, as it was outside their purview.

It is noteworthy that the increase in prices for flights from Russia to Armenia is not exclusive to Armenia Airways. Similar pricing policies are in effect for other flights from the Russian Federation to the Republic of Armenia as well. Another citizen shared their flight ticket purchased for February 3, for which they paid 5,824 Russian rubles (30,000 to 40,000 AMD).

As an example, let’s consider the prices for tickets from Moscow to Yerevan and vice versa, from Yerevan to Moscow, as of February 4 at 17:00 on Armenia and Aeroflot airlines.
