Video: 85-Year-Old Woman Saved from World War II Detained in St. Petersburg; Children Arrested
Protests against the ongoing war in Ukraine have been taking place in several cities across Russia for two consecutive days. Russian news outlets report that demonstrators are demanding the withdrawal of their country's troops from Ukraine and an end to the war. All rallies are being heavily suppressed by authorities, and protesters are being detained for seven days.
According to reports, over 700 individuals have been detained during similar actions across various cities. Among those participating in a protest in St. Petersburg was 85-year-old Elena Osipova, who survived World War II. She carried banners calling for an end to the war and nuclear weapons. Police detained her during the rally. Children who also attended the protest are being arrested as well.
