Who Will Assume the Duties of the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces

Temporary duties of the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia have been assigned to Deputy Chief Kamo Kochunts, as reported by ArmLur.am.

Previously, the website had indicated that two candidates were being considered for the position of temporary Chief of the General Staff: Kamo Kochunts and Arakel Martikyan.

It is noted that on February 24, Artak Davtyan was dismissed for the second time from the position of Chief of the General Staff. Davtyan had been appointed to this role on March 22, 2021, replacing Onik Gasparyan. Prior to that, Davtyan had also held the position of Chief of the General Staff from May 2018 to June 2020.

Kamo Kochunts has been serving as the First Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia since September 13, 2021.
