Video: Residents of Artsakh Stop Azerbaijani Convoy and Demand Action from Martakert Inhabitants
Earlier today, residents of the Martakert region of the Republic of Artsakh blocked the road of an Azerbaijani military convoy heading towards Karvachar. Auroranews.am contacted Artsakh National Assembly member Metaksyan Hakobyan for more information, who stated that peacekeepers attempted to intervene to persuade the residents to open the road, but the locals remained steadfast.
Unable to pass through, the Azerbaijani convoy had to turn back. Hakobyan noted that a serviceman injured days ago in Artsakh had sustained injuries at positions in that area. This border incident has definitively crossed the patience threshold of the residents. According to the MP, Martakert residents emphasize that Azerbaijanis pass through their villages as if they own the land, while they are unable to use the roads that remain under Azerbaijani control, such as the route through Karvachar to Armenia. Furthermore, they are unable to carry out agricultural activities in areas under their control.
The goal of blocking the road is to remind Azerbaijan of the trilateral statement and demand adherence to it. Further details are available in the video.
