Murder in Gyumri: What Happened

The Shirak Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee is undertaking investigative and other necessary procedural actions to unveil the murder of a 34-year-old man in Gyumri that occurred yesterday. According to the IC, preliminary information indicates that on February 27, 2022, at 01:15, a report was received from the Gyumri medical center stating that a resident of Gyumri, born in 1987, had been admitted with "stab wounds and biological death" diagnosed.

As a result of immediate measures taken, the crime scene was identified, where blood-like traces, a hat, and a cigarette butt were found. An examination of the body revealed stab wounds on the left frontal part of the head, lower back, upper part of the right seat, and the front section of the right thigh. A criminal case has been initiated based on the features of Article 104, Part 1 of the RA Criminal Code.

A forensic medical examination has been appointed to determine the nature, severity, mechanism of injuries, and other circumstances regarding the victim's bodily injuries. The victim’s clothing at the time of the incident has been seized, samples have been collected, and recordings from surveillance cameras present at the crime scene are being analyzed.

The preliminary investigation is ongoing. Measures are being taken to identify, locate, and present the person(s) who allegedly committed the crime to the prosecuting authority. An instruction has been issued to the investigative body.
