Former Prisoner of War to Remain Free: Ruben Melikyan

This global turmoil has brought some small good news that I would like to share (it is significant for me). The Court of Appeals has rejected the prosecutor's appeal against the decision to release former prisoner of war Robert Nalbandian. Robert will remain free. This was reported on the Facebook page of Ruben Melikyan, co-founder of the 'Legal Path' NGO.

‘This important decision was made by Judge Bisharyan,’ he noted.

Earlier, it was reported that Robert Nalbandian was captured on November 16 during Azerbaijan's assault on the eastern frontline of Armenia and its incursion into the country's sovereign territory. He has been charged under part 3 of Article 365 of the Armenian Criminal Code (violating the rules of combat duty or combat service, leading to severe consequences). He does not accept the charges against him.

Nalbandian is a father of three minors and has health issues, as he sustained injuries while in Azerbaijani captivity, where he was subjected to beatings, resulting in broken ribs.
