Criminal Case Initiated Regarding Death of 23-Year-Old Man

The Investigation Committee of Armenia is conducting an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the death of a 23-year-old man in the Ajapnyak and Davtashen administrative districts of Yerevan. This was reported by the investigation committee.

According to preliminary information, on February 18, 2022, at 09:58, a report was received from a citizen stating that a relative had committed suicide in a home on Sporti Street in Yerevan. An investigative-operational group immediately proceeded to the scene and discovered the body of a young man born in 1998, who had sustained a gunshot wound to the head.

A criminal case has been initiated by the Investigation Committee of Armenia under the first part of Article 110 of the Criminal Code. An examination of the crime scene revealed and seized a smoothbore double-barrel shotgun from the residence. For the purpose of clarifying significant circumstances related to the criminal case, forensic medical, criminalistic, and ballistics examinations have been appointed. The preliminary investigation is ongoing.
