The Threat to Arrest the President of Artsakh Indicates Much Deeper and More Dangerous Processes, Abrahamyan States

Member of the National Assembly from the "Honorary Duty" faction, Tigran Abrahamyan, writes: "The threat from Azerbaijan to arrest the President of Artsakh, or more accurately, to abduct him, speaks of much deeper and more dangerous processes than one might imagine at first glance. Considering the fact that many of our compatriots are featured in the Azerbaijani 'black lists,' this is not just a threat directed at one individual.

If even from the perspective of international law the accusations of the Azerbaijani law enforcement agencies have no factual basis, the resulting risks do not diminish. In the current situation, actions must be taken primarily by the relevant bodies of the Republic of Armenia, who need to harness the Azerbaijani intimidation through various international organizations. If Azerbaijan succeeds in making its actions understandable to the international community—efforts in that direction are already underway—and if the Armenian authorities continue to display their characteristic indifference and toothless stance, pretending that they have no further actions to take regarding the issue of Artsakh, then we will soon witness new Azerbaijani provocations."
