Car Crash in Yerevan: BMW and VAZ-2107 Collide, Several Taken into Custody
On February 16, a car accident occurred in Yerevan. Around 8:00 PM, a BMW, driven by an unidentified individual, collided with a VAZ-2107, operated by 27-year-old Armen Petrosyan from Ararat city, in front of 4/12 Shiraki Street.
According to shamshyan.com from the scene, the driver of the VAZ sustained bodily injuries and was transported to the 'Erebuni' Medical Center. A firefighting unit from the emergency situations ministry's Yerevan rescue service quickly arrived at the scene.
The firefighters disconnected the vehicles’ power sources, halted a gas leak, and cordoned off the area.
At the site, three individuals displayed disrespectful behavior towards the public and shouted obscenities. The police urged them not to disturb public order; however, they did not comply with the officers' lawful requests, leading to their detention by the patrol police from the Shengavit division.
It has been reported that one of these individuals was found to possess a significant quantity of narcotics. The police are working to identify the driver of the BMW.
