Photos: Fatal Road Accidents in Tavush Province
The Investigative Committee of Armenia has launched a criminal case under Article 242, Part 2 of the Criminal Code regarding a fatal road accident that occurred near Lake Gosh. Preliminary reports indicate that on February 12, 2022, around 06:00, a 31-year-old man lost control of his "UAZ-31519" vehicle, veering off the roadway and rolling into a gorge, resulting in his death at the scene, while a female passenger was taken to the medical center with injuries. Immediate investigative and procedural actions have been conducted during the preliminary investigation, and forensic medical and automotive technical examinations have been initiated. The investigation is ongoing.
The Investigative Committee is also taking appropriate measures to clarify the circumstances of another fatal road accident that occurred on the 85th kilometer of the Yerevan-Sevan-Ijevan highway, for which a criminal case has been opened under Article 242, Part 3 of the Criminal Code. According to preliminary information, on February 12, 2022, around 07:00, a 69-year-old man driving a "Mercedes Benz" lost control of his vehicle in the mentioned area and fell into a gorge, resulting in his death and that of one of his passengers at the scene, while other passengers were hospitalized with injuries. Forensic medical and automotive technical examinations have also been initiated for this incident. The investigation is underway.
