Aftershocks Recorded: Details from the Ministry of Emergency Situations
During a press conference held at the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Sos Margaryan, the director of the Seismic Protection Territorial Service, addressed the recent earthquake that occurred on the Armenian-Georgian border and its consequences. "If a few stones have fallen from an old structure, it doesn't necessarily mean there is a collapse," he stated.
"There are already aftershocks. Currently, we have recorded 165 aftershocks, the strongest of which has a magnitude of 3," said Margaryan, noting that aftershock activity is typical for such earthquakes.
According to him, it is likely that these aftershocks may last a bit longer.
