Glass Items Broken in Homes and Bottles in Shops in Lori Province
On February 13, a significant earthquake occurred, but there were no major collapses in Lori Province. However, stones have fallen from the walls, and cracks have appeared in homes. This was reported by Anna Gasparyan, the head of the information and public relations department of the Lori Province government, in an interview with 'Pastinfo'.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia officially informed today that they have received 4 alerts regarding collapses in Lori Province. The Lori provincial government conveyed to the media that thorough investigations into the consequences of the earthquake are currently underway.
“The studies are just being conducted. According to preliminary data, particularly in the communities of Alaverdi and Tashir, stones have fallen from the walls, but there is no serious damage. We do not yet have summarized data from the community leaders. There has been no major damage or significant collapses; stones have simply fallen from the walls, and cracks have increased in homes,” said Anna Gasparyan.
She noted that there was significant panic, and people left their homes to stay overnight at relatives’ houses. “As we learned, glass items have broken in homes, and bottles in shops have shattered, but in small volumes, as far as we know at this time; it has mostly been more about the atmosphere of fear,” Anna Gasparyan added, expressing her feeling that the earthquake's intensity was around 5 on the Richter scale.
