Cracks and Collapses Reported After Yesterday's Earthquake: 9 Incidents Recorded by the Ministry of Emergency Situations, 5 in Yerevan

On February 13, from 22:25 to 00:30 on February 14, the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) responded to 9 incidents caused by the earthquake. In Yerevan, 5 incidents were recorded. A report was received that the balcony of building number 68a on 6th street in Vardashen had collapsed. A firefighting team from Fire Station 3 went to the scene and determined that two stones had fallen from the entrance balcony of the building. Firefighters cordoned off the area and removed the stones.

Another report indicated that part of the wall of building number 10 on 4th alley of Artsakh had partially collapsed. A team from Fire Station 15 was dispatched, and it was found that 8 stones had fallen from the wall of the emergency building. Rescuers cordoned off the area.

In several residential buildings, cracks or widening of existing gaps have been reported according to alerts received. In Lori province, 4 incidents were registered. A report was received about the collapse of the basement wall of building number 2 on Sos Sargsyan Street in Stepanavan. A firefighting team from Fire Station 40 responded and found that approximately 3 square meters of the basement wall had collapsed, and there were no injuries.

Stones, plaster, and facing tiles have fallen from several buildings in Alaverdi, Stepanavan, and Vanadzor. In Shirak province, 1 incident was recorded. A report was received that stones had fallen from building number 26 in the 3rd district of Gyumri. A firefighting team from Fire Station 48 was dispatched and found that 8 stones (approximately 15 square meters) had fallen from the 4th and 5th floors of building number 26 (3rd, partially 4th category of emergency). Firefighters cordoned off the area.

On the same day, contact was made with operational duty officers of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) and the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs (IA) to ascertain the operational situation in Georgia, confirming that there were no collapses or destruction.
