The Connection of Nagorno-Karabakh with Armenia and the Outside World Cannot Be Controlled by Azerbaijan: Artsakh's Foreign Minister Davit Babayan
It is essential to ensure the uninterrupted connection of Nagorno-Karabakh with Armenia and the outside world, and this connection cannot be controlled by Azerbaijan. This was stated by the Foreign Minister of Artsakh, Davit Babayan, during a meeting at the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia.
In response to a question about the possibility of constructing a bypass road around Lachin, which would result in several Armenian villages coming under Azerbaijani control, the minister emphasized that the issue of uninterrupted communication is a priority for the authorities of Artsakh. “There is no final decision; negotiations are ongoing. We will protect our interests,” the minister stressed.
“The connection of Nagorno-Karabakh with Armenia and the outside world must be ensured, and it cannot be controlled by Azerbaijan. Such a thing will not happen. There were discussions from Azerbaijan about the installation of a checkpoint. That is absolutely unacceptable,” said Davit Babayan.
