«Are We Interested in Signing a Peace Treaty with Azerbaijan? Yes» – Pashinyan
Efforts are being made both within Armenia and abroad to create the impression that someone is trying to impose a different agenda on Armenia and that Armenia is avoiding some agenda. This was stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a Q&A session with the government, in response to a question about Armenia's perspective on opening a new era of peace.
“Signing a peace treaty with Azerbaijan, normalizing relations with Turkey, and recording them in the relevant documents has been the goal of our government, and indeed all governments. The main goal of the Nagorno-Karabakh negotiation process has been the signing of a peace treaty, and that is recorded in all documents. Are we interested in signing a peace treaty with Azerbaijan? Yes, is it necessary to negotiate for that? Yes, in what format should that negotiation take place? We have emphasized our views on that several times,” stated Pashinyan.
He added that signing a peace treaty is one of their objectives, and they are ready for substantial, concrete discussions.
