Accident in Ararat Region: Those Involved are Wedding Guests

Today, February 2, a major traffic accident occurred in the Ararat region. Around 15:00, in the administrative area of Aralez village on the Vedi-Vooskataf highway, vehicles driven by local residents Andranik Muradyan, 25, in a UAZ, and Mushegh Miranyan, 37, in a Mercedes C180, collided.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, five people were transported to the Vedi medical center, three of whom are children. One of the injured was taken to the hospital in a civilian vehicle.

The collision caused the cars to veer off the road and crash into a gas pipeline supplying several villages, leading to a gas leak. According to G. Shamshyan, the victims were wedding guests headed to a ceremony.

The head of the Ararat regional police, Saribek Rustamyan, and the head of the Ararat police department arrived at the scene. The Ararat police department's investigative unit is preparing materials on the incident. Police are working to establish the identities of the drivers and the injured.
