The U.S. Again Urges Its Citizens to Leave Ukraine

The U.S. Embassy in Kyiv has once again urged American citizens to leave Ukraine due to the unpredictable security situation in the country, providing a list of neighboring countries to which they can travel, according to a statement from the diplomatic mission. This was reported by RIA Novosti.

“The situation continues to remain unpredictable against the backdrop of an intensified threat from Russian military operations and could deteriorate without warning. The U.S. Embassy urges U.S. citizens in Ukraine to consider departing now using commercial or private transportation options,” the embassy's statement said.

The American diplomatic mission advises citizens to consider traveling to neighboring countries, including Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, and Moldova. At the same time, the embassy does not recommend entering Moldova via Transnistria, as in this case, the diplomatic mission would have “limited access” and would not be able to provide full assistance to citizens.

The embassy notes that it is prepared to provide assistance to American citizens who are currently unable to buy tickets for flights to the U.S. Earlier, the State Department announced that it had authorized the departure of a portion of its diplomatic staff from Ukraine, and all family members have been advised to leave the country on commercial flights.
