Putin's Oligarchs Will Have Nowhere to Hide, Says UK Foreign Secretary
The Kremlin and any company associated with the Russian regime could become targets, stated UK Foreign Secretary Liz Truss while detailing a potential sanctions bill against Moscow. The Foreign Secretary affirmed that "Vladimir Putin's oligarchs will have nowhere to hide" in the event of stricter sanctions.
She also indicated that possible enhancements to sanctions might include the seizure of Russian oligarchs' properties in London. Truss did not rule out military assistance to Ukraine in the event of a Russian invasion.
"The number one priority is to deter Vladimir Putin from these actions," Truss told Sky News, referring to the escalating tensions around Ukraine. She added that "absolutely nothing is off the table" when it comes to military support for Ukraine.
The Foreign Secretary emphasized that "any company linked to the Kremlin and the Russian regime could be targeted." She concluded, stating that "there will be no safe haven for Putin's oligarchs or Russian companies involved in supporting the Russian state," and mentioned that she would present the sanctions bill within the coming week.
