China Launches Satellite

China has successfully launched the L-SAR 01A (“Tanshe-1 01A”) satellite into orbit, aimed at implementing geological projects, monitoring seismic activity, and preventing the consequences of natural disasters. This was reported by the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation. According to details shared on their WeChat page, the launch was conducted at 07:44 local time (03:44 Yerevan time) using a CZ-4C (“Changzheng-4C”) rocket from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in the northern part of the country.

According to the announcement, the satellite will also be utilized in forestry management. It is expected to significantly enhance the timeliness of warnings about impending catastrophes, thereby improving the efficiency of national resource and environmental security measures.

Beijing is actively developing its national space program, working on meteorological, telecommunications, and navigation satellites, in addition to technologies for lunar exploration. Chinese scientists are concurrently implementing research programs related to asteroids and Mars.

A space station is being constructed in orbit, which is planned to become operational by 2022. In 2021, China conducted 55 launches, setting a national record. According to the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, this figure places China ahead of the United States in the last 12 months, securing the top position globally, as reported by TASS.
