At 8, She Passed the Unified State Exam and Entered University: Moscow
Moscow State University psychology faculty’s nine-year-old student Alisa Teplyakova needs to return to school, said Daniil Alexandrov, a professor at the Higher School of Economics of the National Research University in St. Petersburg, in an interview with "Moskowskiye Komsomolets".
According to him, it is still early for Alisa to be studying at a higher educational institution, as in a few years she may develop interests unrelated to psychology.
“She could return to a good school. It doesn’t matter that she passed the exam. There are many excellent private schools in Moscow,” the professor said. Continuing education at school will help Alisa acquire important social skills through communication with her peers, he believes. This will give her more independence.
The professor emphasized that school and senior classes are necessary not just for the transmission of knowledge. In his opinion, every person should go through certain stages of life. Alisa took the Unified State Exam at the age of eight in 2021 and was admitted to the paid section of the psychology faculty of Moscow State University. After her admission, the girl’s classmates concluded that she is not adapted to social life.
On January 10, the psychology department of Moscow State University reported that the girl was absent from exams and that the university was unable to contact her family. Later, the faculty administration clarified to RT that the student participated in two out of four exams, failing the first but successfully passing the second. At the same time, the university did not disclose the grades but explained that Teplyakova is studying according to an individual plan devised by her parents.
For his part, Alisa’s father, Evgeny Teplyakov, stated that his daughter did not attend the exams for a respectable reason and called the publication of the results a crime by Moscow State University.
