Canadian Prime Minister Changes Residence Due to Protests

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, along with his family, has changed his residence in the capital due to safety concerns arising from protests against COVID restrictions, reported CBC News, citing sources, as covered by RIA Novosti.

“Amid concerns for safety, Trudeau and his family have moved from their home to an undisclosed location in the capital,” the broadcaster reported without disclosing its source.

Thousands of protesters gathered the day before in Ottawa in front of Parliament to demand the cancellation of vaccine mandates and other restrictions related to the coronavirus. Organizers are calling on the increasing crowd to hold a peaceful demonstration, while the police are in a state of heightened alert.

The broadcaster noted that more people are expected to gather in the city center in the coming hours. It was mentioned that trucks, which are gathering on Wellington Street in front of the parliamentary buildings, are adorned with signs criticizing health measures and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

The protest is still peaceful, emphasized the broadcaster.
