Turkey Requests Additional Gas Supply from Azerbaijan

Due to technical issues related to gas supplies from Iran to Turkey, Turkey has approached Azerbaijan requesting an additional gas supply to the country. It has been decided to increase the volume of gas supplied to Turkey, an official representative of Azerbaijan's state oil company SOCAR told RIA Novosti.

“Due to technical problems in the supply of natural gas from Iran to Turkey, the Turkish side has approached the Azerbaijan Gas Sales Company with a request to provide additional gas volumes to compensate for the temporary shortage of fuel. The company has considered the request and a decision has been made to increase the volume of gas exported within the existing capabilities,” said the SOCAR representative.
