Floods in Madagascar: 34 Dead
The tropical cyclone "Ana" has caused prolonged rains in Madagascar. As a result of the flooding, 34 people have lost their lives, and around 64,000 have been injured, according to The Watchers.
In the Analamanga region, over 58,000 people have been affected. In the capital Antananarivo, at least 10 people died between January 17 and 19 due to building collapses, while the weekend saw an additional 24 fatalities.
More than 6,800 homes are underwater, and many buildings are at risk of collapse. Nearly 39,000 people have been evacuated. Classes in schools across the Analamanga region and other affected areas have been suspended until January 28.
