Niva Overturns in Major Car Accident in Yerevan

Today, on January 25, a major chain reaction car accident occurred in Yerevan. Around 15:00, vehicles including a Kia Optima, Hyundai, VAZ 2121, and Ford Transit collided on Sebastia Street in front of the "Max Oil" gas station.

According to photographer Gagik Shamshyan, the Niva overturned, and one person was taken to the hospital.

The 3rd platoon of the 3rd company of the Yerevan division of the patrol service of the RA police, led by platoon commander Gor Arakelyan and squad commander Gegham Yeghoyan, arrived swiftly at the scene. Patrol officers Gevorg Yeritsyan and Edgar Mkrtchyan are conducting enhanced services on-site to prevent curious drivers from parking and to avoid traffic congestion.

A firefighting brigade from the Ministry of Emergency Situations also dispatched one combat unit from the Yerevan firefighting and rescue squad.

The patrol service of the Yerevan division of the RA police informed regarding the accident, and an investigative group led by the head of the division Grigor Avetisyan and senior investigator Gegham Tsarukyan has arrived at the scene. Investigative materials are being prepared by G. Tsarukyan regarding the incident. The patrol service is in the process of identifying the drivers and the injured party.
