Canada Orders Diplomatic Personnel Families to Leave Ukraine

The Canadian authorities, against the backdrop of military aggression threats from Russia, have urged the families of Canadian diplomats in Ukraine to leave the country. This news was reported by The Globe and Mail.

"Canada has ordered the families of diplomatic personnel to leave Ukraine," the portal states.

It is noteworthy that on January 23, 2022, the U.S. State Department approved a decision for the voluntary departure of U.S. government personnel from the embassy in Kyiv and instructed the families of U.S. government personnel to leave the embassy due to ongoing threats of military action from Russia.

U.S. citizens in Ukraine are advised to consider departing using commercial or other private transportation options. There are reports that Russia is planning significant military operations against Ukraine. The security situation, particularly along Ukraine's borders, in Crimea occupied by Russia, and in Russia-controlled Eastern Ukraine, is unpredictable and may deteriorate without notice," stated the State Department's announcement.
