Explosion at Tichina Street Caused by Gas Leakage
On January 23, at 09:54, the Crisis Management National Center received a report of an explosion at one of the houses near the "Bora" restaurant on Tichina Street in Yerevan. A firefighting and rescue squad from the Emergency Situations Ministry's Fire and Rescue Department was dispatched to the scene, along with an operational group from the Crisis Management National Center.
It was determined that the explosion occurred due to a gas leak in one of the houses on Tichina Street (100 sq.m). A load-bearing wall measuring 12 sq.m collapsed, and window glass was damaged.
A 80-year-old individual (born in 1943) was hospitalized at the National Center for Burns, where doctors assessed the victim's condition as moderate. Rescuers have closed the valve of the gas pipeline. No signs of fire were discovered.
