Father Discovers Son's Body in Bedroom
Today, January 22, a tragic incident occurred in Yerevan. Between 11:30 AM and 12:00 PM, the police received a report that a man's body had been found in an apartment in one of the buildings of the Davitashen administrative district.
According to photo reporter Gagik Shamshyan, an operational group from the police department of Yerevan, led by Deputy Chief Arthur Zohrabyan and the head of the criminal investigation division Hovhannes Aristakesyan, arrived at the scene.
The heads of Mashtots police department Andranik Shahbazyan and Davitashen police department Armen Harutyunyan also arrived.
Police found the body of a man in the bedroom of the apartment, with injuries to the left side of the chest. The deceased has been identified as 38-year-old Levon G., a resident of the same building, who was discovered by his father, upon entering the bedroom and noticing his son injured with a kitchen knife.
The father called for an ambulance; the arriving medical personnel confirmed the son’s death. Currently, investigators from the Investigative Committee of Armenia’s Yerevan division are working at the scene in the Ajapnyak and Davitashen administrative districts.
According to G. Shamshyan’s information, the deceased had returned from the Russian Federation months ago and was engaged in construction work, characterized positively among relatives and friends.
By the investigator's decision, an autopsy has been ordered, and the kitchen knife has been seized by the investigator.
