Child Injured in Artsakh Transferred to Yerevan via Russian Peacekeepers' Helicopter
A child who sustained serious injuries in a car accident in Artsakh has been transferred to Yerevan aboard a helicopter provided by Russian peacekeepers. This was reported on Facebook by the Minister of State of Artsakh, Artak Beglaryan.
“On January 19, a car accident occurred in the city of Chartar, resulting in injuries to four children, three of whom were moderately injured, while one suffered severe injuries, including a complicated spinal fracture. Given the complexity and seriousness of the injuries, medical staff indicated that he needed to be transferred to Yerevan by helicopter. The Artsakh government requested the assistance of the Russian peacekeeping forces for the helicopter, which was granted; however, due to poor weather conditions yesterday, the flight took place this morning,” he wrote.
The child is currently in Yerevan under medical supervision. His life is not in danger, but complex and serious surgical procedures are planned, and hopefully, his health can be restored as much as possible.
This is the first urgent need for helicopter use since the 2020 war, and fortunately, the issue has been resolved. I would like to express special gratitude to the Russian peacekeeping forces and Commander Major General Andrey Volkov for addressing this humanitarian crisis quickly and effectively. This is yet another example of the humanitarian activities of Russian peacekeepers in Artsakh and our cooperation,” he added.
