Car Accident in Gegharkunik Province

On January 22, a serious car accident occurred in Gegharkunik Province. Around 1:20 PM, local resident, 32-year-old Mher Sedrakyan, while driving a Lexus-350, veered off the roadway on the Sarukhana-Gandzak highway and collided with metal pipes.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, as a result of the accident, a passenger, fellow villager and peer Ishkhan Bozoyan, was taken to the 'Gavar' medical center with bodily injuries.

Operational response teams from the 4th platoon of the 2nd patrol battalion of the Road Police arrived at the scene, led by platoon commander Edgar Suslyan and squad commander Vachagan Voskanyan.

The investigative work at the scene was supervised by senior investigator Bakur Saribekyan from the same platoon, who is in the process of preparing materials regarding the facts of the incident.

The road police and Gavar police department personnel discovered that the accident was caused by a 39-year-old local resident, Narek Movsesyan, who owned a Lexus GX-470 and had negligently created a dangerous situation for M. Sedrakyan.
