Body of 25-Year-Old Iranian Woman Found in Zeytun Student Dormitory

On January 19, a tragic incident occurred in Yerevan. At approximately 13:40, Yerevan resident V. Mkhtaryan alerted the Kanaker-Zeytun police station, reporting that a foreign girl was found hanging in building 7 of 10 David Anahit Street (commonly known as Zeytun student dormitories).

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, an operational group from the Kanaker-Zeytun police station, led by department head Zoric Avdishoyan, arrived at the scene. A team from the investigation department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia, led by senior investigator Martikyan, also arrived.

Police and investigators discovered the body of 25-year-old Sh. B., a citizen of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in room 524 of the mentioned building, hanging from a piece of cloth attached to a suitcase placed in the wardrobe. Preliminary findings from the medical examiner revealed no signs of violence on the body. An autopsy has been ordered by the investigator. Materials are being processed in the investigative department regarding the fact.

According to G. Shamshyan’s information, V. Mkhtaryan, who reported to the police, is the director of the 'Zeytun Student Village' foundation.
