Man Assaults Pregnant Woman at Haypost Branch and Hurls Insults

A man has been reported to have verbally assaulted and physically attacked a pregnant employee at a Haypost branch, damaging property in the process. The individual who attacked the pregnant employee has been arrested, according to a statement from the Armenian police.

The incident occurred on January 10 at around 4 PM. A man entered the Haypost branch located on Yervand Kochar Street in Yerevan and stated that he wanted to collect a package sent from abroad in his name. After checking, the employee informed him that there was no package registered under his name.

“After hearing this response, the man, grossly violating public order, verbally assaulted the pregnant employee for an extended period, physically attacked her, and caused damage to the property of the branch,” the announcement stated.

One of the witnesses alerted the police. A criminal case has been initiated on the grounds of hooliganism. The police quickly established the man’s identity and took measures to locate him.

On January 14, police officers found and detained the 39-year-old man. He was presented to the body conducting the preliminary investigation, arrested, and subsequently remanded into custody. The circumstances of the incident are being clarified, and the preliminary investigation is ongoing.
