11-Year-Old Child Dies During Protests in Kazakhstan
The children’s ombudsman of Kazakhstan reports that an 11-year-old child died from a gunshot wound in Almaty on January 5. Additionally, a 15-year-old teenager was hospitalized with serious gunshot wounds on January 7; he was in a car with his father when militants opened fire on their vehicle.
It is noteworthy that a state of emergency has been declared in Kazakhstan due to the protests that began in early January, with clashes between law enforcement and citizens continuing to result in casualties on both sides.
