Tragic Incident in Yerevan: Bodies of a Couple Discovered
Today, on December 21, a tragic incident took place in Yerevan. Around 11:30 AM, the Shengavit police department received a call from citizens reporting that for several days, the residents of apartment 6 in building 54 on Chekhov Street, an elderly couple, had not responded to knocks on the door or phone calls.
According to shamshyan.com, an operational group arrived quickly at the scene under the leadership of the head of the Shengavit police department, Karen Buniatyan. The police contacted the Ministry of Emergency Situations' rescue service 911 crisis management center, from which rescue team number 17 was dispatched. Upon forcing the door open, they discovered the couple's bodies in the bedroom.
The Shengavit police and patrolling officers identified the deceased as 85-year-old Zhorik I. and 76-year-old Seda G. Their bodies were found in a partially decomposed state. According to the preliminary conclusion from the forensic medical expert, no signs of violence were discovered on the bodies.
Currently, a group from the Yerevan Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia is working at the scene, and materials are being prepared concerning the case. By the investigator's decision, a forensic examination of the bodies has been appointed. It appears that the apartment was without gas, and according to preliminary information, the couple may have died unexpectedly.
