Putin Warns of Military-Technical Response if Aggressive Line Continues

The United States must understand that Russia has no room to retreat. This statement was made by Russian President Vladimir Putin during an expanded meeting of the Russian Defense Ministry's collegium, as reported by RIA Novosti.

“What they are currently doing in Ukraine, attempting or planning to do, is not a thousand kilometers away from our national border; it is on the doorstep of our home. They need to understand that we simply have no place to retreat,” said Putin.

The Russian president blamed the United States for the rising tensions in Europe and added that now we are forced to resolve some issues.

Putin warned that if the Western partners continue their clearly aggressive line, they will receive a commensurate military-technical response, and their unfriendly actions will be met with a strong reaction.

Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry had published drafts of agreements with NATO and the USA. The documents exclude the further eastward expansion of the alliance and the membership of former Soviet countries in NATO.
