Death Toll From Typhoon in the Philippines Exceeds 110
The death toll from Typhoon Rai in the central Philippines has risen by at least 63, bringing the total number of fatalities in the country to 112, according to reports from Associated Press citing Bohol Governor Arthur Yap.
He indicated that there are 10 individuals missing and 13 injured, suggesting that the number of casualties may still increase.
It is known that over 300,000 residents have been evacuated due to the typhoon. President Rodrigo Duterte has visited the disaster zone and pledged $40 million in aid.
The source elaborates that the typhoon, moving at speeds of 195-270 km/h, is considered one of the most powerful to hit the country in recent years. It is worth noting that more than 6,300 people died during the typhoon that struck in November 2013.
