Aggressive Monkeys in India Destroy Dogs, Terrorize People, and Attack Children
Aggressive monkeys in the village of Lawul, located in the central Indian state of Maharashtra, have declared a "war" on dogs, resulting in the destruction of numerous canines, according to the Daily Mail.
The conflict between the animals began in mid-November when a pack of dogs killed one of the monkey’s infants. The very next day, the primates began to attack the dogs and their puppies, seizing them and dragging them onto rooftops before throwing them down.
Within just one month, the monkeys have killed 250 dogs, leaving no dogs remaining in Lawul. Residents have reached out to forestry officials to catch the aggressive monkeys and manage the situation; however, police officers dispatched to the village have been unable to capture any of the animals.
Following this, Lawul residents attempted to protect the dogs themselves, but the monkeys have pushed several men off roofs when they tried to get closer. Moreover, the monkeys have begun to attack children, presumably in response to human attempts to cease the violence against the dogs. There was a reported incident in which the primates attacked an eight-year-old schoolboy, who was only rescued through the efforts of several men.
Currently, attacks on people in Lawul continue.
