Police Prevent Suicide Attempt of Man Recently Released from Prison

On December 10th, police in Yerevan prevented a citizen from attempting suicide. Around 10:30 AM, officers were on patrol when two citizens approached them, reporting that a man had wandered to a dangerous edge of the Kievyan Bridge and was threatening to jump.

According to shamshyan.com, the police managed to engage the man in conversation, resulting in him deciding against taking that extreme step. They subsequently assisted him in moving away from the dangerous ledge to a safe location, where he was then escorted to the Mashtots Police Department.

Reports indicate that the man justified his actions by citing social issues, explaining that he had recently been released from prison and did not want to live anymore. Materials are being prepared regarding the incident at the Mashtots Police Department.
