Extraordinary Hearing Scheduled Today in Armen Charachyan's Case

The former director of Izmirlian Medical Center and member of the "Hayastan" faction, Armen Charachyan, has an extraordinary hearing scheduled today. Armen Charachyan's lawyer, Erk Aleksanyan, reports that the judge of the first instance court, Vahe Misakyan, has scheduled an extraordinary court session based on a decision from the Constitutional Court at 14:00.

It was noted that the Constitutional Court published its decision yesterday based on a request from the "Hayastan" faction regarding parliamentary immunity. "The Constitutional Court has established that an individual without the status of a detained member of parliament cannot be held in custody at the moment of acquiring parliamentary status. Our colleagues were illegally detained for so many months, and now they must be released immediately. The high court has ensured constitutional justice this time," wrote Aram Vardevanyan, a member of the "Hayastan" faction.
