Details of the Soldier Wounded by a Colleague's Gunshot Today: What the Shooter Told Law Enforcement

It was announced today that around 23:50, a soldier from the Defense Ministry's N unit stationed in the southeastern direction of Armenia was injured by gunfire supposedly fired by a fellow soldier, Private Senik Arthur Sahakyan (born 2003). This information was provided by the press office of the Armenian Ministry of Defense.

The soldier's condition is assessed as extremely critical. An investigation is underway to fully ascertain the circumstances of the incident.

According to details revealed to ArmLur.am about the soldier's injury, the shooter has told law enforcement that the incident was accidental, and that he accidentally shot the soldier in the leg. He claimed to have personally tried to take the injured soldier to the hospital and that there were no issues between them.

Authorities are verifying the credibility of the soldier's statements.
