VIDEO: What Are Noise Strips Designed For? The Police Clarify
To improve the level of road traffic safety, prevent road accidents, and reduce traffic congestion, the traffic police continue to take practical steps on a daily basis.
The police report that, in this context, the officers of the traffic organization and control department have recently carried out a number of tasks. Following appropriate studies, noise strips have been installed before uncontrolled pedestrian crossings.
When vehicles pass over these strips, noise is generated from the contact with the wheels, which alerts drivers, reminding them that there is a pedestrian crossing or a hazardous area ahead. Noise strips have already been installed before more than 50 pedestrian crossings.
Such strips have also been placed in sections of roads where, according to studies and analyses, road traffic accidents frequently occur. The visibility of traffic lights is also crucial for road traffic safety.
Daily work is being conducted in this regard as well. Over the past six months, in more than 20 intersections in the capital, traffic lights have been moved from the right side of the street to the center, either through cables or metal structures. Traffic delays are a separate issue, and daily studies and practical measures are being taken to reduce them. Recently, the operation of traffic lights at Gayi Avenue and Acharyan Street has been re-coordinated to form, so to speak, a 'green wave,' similar to that on Mashtots Avenue.
The traffic police continue their daily work aimed at increasing the level of road traffic safety.
