Preventive Measure Selected for Vladimir Gasparyan

The former Chief of Police of Armenia, Vladimir Gasparyan, will not be able to leave the country. A preventive measure has been imposed on him, requiring him to sign a pledge not to leave. This was stated by Marina Ohanyan, the press secretary of the Anti-Corruption Committee, to 24News.

According to the committee, the police general has been charged with legalizing property obtained through criminal means totaling over 2 billion drams, along with other criminal activities. The charges allege that Gasparyan and his family members received a total of 353,249,428 drams as legal income between 1995 and 2021. However, during the period from 2005 to 2021, properties registered under their names but actually belonging to V. Gasparyan, along with the costs of property renovations, bank transactions, and utility payments, are said to have far exceeded their legal incomes, amounting to 2,477,884,177 drams.
