36-Year-Old Resident of Yerevan Arrested for Stabbing Fellow Citizen

On December 7, 2021, at 21:10, the Arabkir division of the Police of the Republic of Armenia received a report from a citizen stating that their son had been stabbed. On the same day, another call received from Armenia Medical Center indicated that an ambulance team transported a resident of an apartment on A. Avetisyan Street with stab wounds for medical assistance.

The Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia has reported details of the incident. It has been established through operational-search measures conducted by officers of the respective division of the Police that the man received the injuries around 20:55 on the same day during a dispute with a 36-year-old resident of Yerevan in front of a gas station on Vagharchyan Street. According to preliminary data, the latter struck several blows to various parts of the man's body using a sharp cutting-piercing object he had with him, causing bodily harm.

A criminal case has been initiated at the Arabkir division of the Police under part 1 of Article 34-104 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, and the preliminary investigation is being conducted by the Arabkir investigative department of the Yerevan city investigative administration.

The 36-year-old man has been arrested. The investigation continues.
