Azerbaijan Explains Why It Did Not Meet Ararat Mirzoyan in Stockholm

Azerbaijan has declared it inappropriate to hold a meeting between the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia in Stockholm, in response to provocations from Armenia. Leyla Abdullayeva, a representative of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, announced that the planned meeting between the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, scheduled for December 3, was not deemed suitable.

According to Abdullayeva, just hours before the meeting, the "Armenian side committed a provocation." She stated, "Information was spread about illegal visits by Armenian deputies to Azerbaijani territory. For this reason, the Azerbaijani side did not find it appropriate to hold the meeting of foreign ministers of the two countries in Stockholm, in response to the aforementioned provocation by Armenia. Despite Azerbaijan's efforts aimed at normalizing relations between the two countries, Armenia appears to continue its military-political provocations. Armenia's position undermines peace efforts in the region."

It should be noted that, upon the decision of the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Alen Simonyan, a parliamentary delegation from Armenia has traveled to Nagorno-Karabakh to participate in joint parliamentary hearings.
