At 8:00 AM, the Candidate for the Mayor of Yeghegnadzor and the Campaign Coordinator Were Detained

The first candidate from the "David Harutyunyan" alliance participating in the local government elections of the consolidated Yeghegnadzor community, David Harutyunyan, along with the campaign coordinator, Gevorg Sakanian, were detained at their home today at 8 AM. This was reported to NEWS.am by one of the campaign coordinators.

"They were taken from their home early in the morning at 8 AM, and we do not know where David Harutyunyan and Gevorg Sakanian are now. In our opinion, this is political persecution, as the candidate was detained the day before the elections," stated the campaign coordinator.

The Anti-Corruption Committee also informed NEWS.am that David Harutyunyan and Gevorg Sakanian have not been arrested but were taken in as part of an ongoing investigation. No further details about the investigated case were provided to us.
