Karin Tonoyan Issues Statement

Leader of the '5165 Movement' Karin Tonoyan wrote on her Facebook page:

“Today, we invite the wise, capable, and 'uninfluenced' among us to the public square. My dear people of Armenia... how easy it is to sit at home and philosophize about who is being governed by whom, who is the mouthpiece of whom, what we are doing wrong and what we are not… If you know so well what the right thing is, then come out—let’s join you. Do you at least trust yourselves? Why don't you trust us so much? Why have you left the public square? Come out and defend the Homeland; neutralize those of us who are 'governed' like this, and why are you just philosophizing at home…”

I would like to see the force or the person who can manage me… I publicly declare that I do not care who is standing next to me at this moment; I care about the interests of my national statehood, which is being sold today... I care about seeing 10, 20, 30, or 40 thousand people in the square, without whom we can only rid ourselves of these evils... And if anyone can do that, I will only serve them… Well, the public square is waiting for you; please capable ones, come out…”
