Drugs Discovered in the Area of Sevan Prison

On November 11, 2021, around 21:30, a guard at the Ministry of Justice’s Sevan Penitentiary Institution reported suspicious noises emanating from the middle of two observation towers. An immediate inspection of the area resulted in the discovery of two packages attached with adhesive tape, and another hanging from barbed wire.

One of the packages contained 96.2 grams of a substance resembling marijuana, finely minced. The second and third packages weighed 22.9 grams and 20.2 grams respectively, and contained plant materials with a distinct smell.

Material is being prepared regarding the incident, and a forensic chemical examination has been appointed.
